S.M.A.R.T. stands for Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology and is a monitoring system for hard disk to detect the low-level indicators of the general health conditions of the device. Note that the raw values are calculated by the drive’s SMART logic internally.

PfSense NanoBsd-based: issue after upgrade to 2.3

PfSense-Vers23Some days ago I’ve upgraded my pfSense installed in the office to new release 2.3. This device is running is a mother board PC Engines ALIX-based with compact flash: for this reason pfSense is based on NanoBSD image.
Usually this process is flawless, but now I’ve noticed after the upgrade lot of slowness: some page take long time to respond or do not load at all.

Con queste poche righe vorrei iniziare una serie di articoli e note sullo sviluppo in Xamarin.

Con questo primo post vorrei fornirVi una traccia con cui seguire la minuziosa documentazione che troverete sul web che riguarda l’installazione dell’ambiente di sviluppo per Xamarin.

La documentazione principale da seguire rimane sempre e solo Developer Center Xamarin, dove troverete tutte le informazioni necessarie, esposte in modo minuzioso e dettagliato. Forse troppo……..

Infatti le informazioni proposte sono tantissime, e invero non sempre molto chiare, per cui con questo scritto mi propongo di darVi un “faro”, oltre che qualche ulteriore consiglio pratico.

Debian & HyperV just do not mix ! How to mitigate Debian freeze on HyperV

Cat and Dog angryIn these days I’ve found an issue related a guest Debian 7 in Hyper-V vers. 6.3 on Windows 2012 R2.
On a random Basis the file system will be mounted Read-Only due to a disk error: as a result Debian hangs and I need to force a reboot to get the system working again.
I made several configuration changes… I’m not sure they have solved the random issue but it’s been three months now and the problem is no longer happened.
